Araina has more than seven years of experience as a consultant and process engineer, including work at a northern Minnesota iron mining operation. At Barr, she leads projects and technical tasks, working with clients and subject-matter experts to align project goals, foster collaboration, and bring specialized expertise to each assignment.
Her experience includes facilitating process hazard analyses, developing preventive maintenance strategies, performing feasibility studies with capital and operating cost estimates, and preparing process-flow and piping-and-instrumentation diagrams. Araina also uses vendor information, industry standards, and equipment design calculations to develops control narratives, equipment specifications, and lists of major equipment. In addition, she uses the METSIM process-modeling system to develop mass and energy balances.
